Top 10 Ranking for Altair Enlighten Award 2022

  • 1. December 2022
  • 1 minute read

For the auto industry, electronic shielding (or the avoidance of electromagnetic interference, or EMI, to use the technical term) is an important issue for the future. It is of no small importance to shield the wide range of electronic components and systems from one another effectively in electric vehicles. Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) is marketing a solution under the name Seal & Shield. To shield plastic housings, FST has developed coatings with high electrical conductivity that reflect electromagnetic waves right at the surface. An integrated assembly is formed by the plastic housing, its seal and its coating with shielding properties.

The innovation was impressive at this year’s “Altair Enlighten Awards.” The award is bestowed by Altair, in conjunction with the Center for Automotive Research. Altair is a leading global company in the field of computational science, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence. The Enlighten Awards honor exceptional progress in sustainability, including material recycling, reductions in water and energy consumption, and the use of lightweight construction to reduce CO2 emissions. FST made it into the Top 10 in the final round, out of more than 600 submissions. Congratulations to everyone involved!
