A Team Sport with Dragon Boats

  • 1. December 2022
  • 1 minute read

A few weeks ago, the Hungarian city of Kecskemét held a dragon boat race in which 15 teams from different firms headed out onto the water. Two of them were from FST. Employees from the Special Sealing Products Division in Lajosmizse and the Oil Seals Powertrain & Driveline Division in Kecskemét trained hard over the summer so they could leave their opponents far behind. But their competitors didn’t make it easy for them. In an exciting contest, rowers in the dragon boat “Freudenberg Dragonisze” took fourth place in the 200-meter race, barely missing a spot on the podium. But the team earned a spot on the stand in the 1,000 meter race, taking the bronze. Only teams from Mercedes and ABB were faster. The “Freudenberg Dragons” from Kecskemét came in tenth in the 200-meter and seventh in the long-distance race.

“Both teams did a great job and we all had a great day, whether we were on the water or cheering from the shore,” said HR Manager Julia Dubniczky-Szabo. “The dragon boat race was just one of several sporting events that we held this year to foster our company culture and boost our team spirit. Our employees embraced them all enthusiastically.”
