The theme for this issue is “Diversity & Inclusion.” Diversity stands for the uniqueness and variety of human beings. Inclusion involves the way that Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) integrates all of its employees on an equal footing.
We at FST would like to create a work environment that offers all of our employees the chance to openly contribute their individual talents, experiences and perspectives. A work environment where everyone feels comfortable and welcome – wherever they come from, whatever their sexual orientation, whatever their religion or skin color, whether they are young or old, or, when necessary, whatever their physical or mental limitations. This diversity, this vibrant interaction of people from different backgrounds, generates creativity and new ideas. It strengthens FST and gives us a competitive edge.
“Diversity & Inclusion” is a global issue. It has numerous facets no matter where you live and work. At any FST location, the goal is to ensure that the diversity of the local social environment is reflected in the company. At the same time, FST takes a somewhat different tack in each of the world’s various regions. In North America, the equitable treatment of different ethnic groups is top of mind. The focus in Europe is on bringing more women into leadership positions.
FST has established a “Diversity & Inclusion Committee” and launched targeted recruiting activities to advance the cause of equal treatment and participation. This is for the benefit of the company and all our employees throughout the world. Publications like ours provide information on these efforts and heighten awareness of the importance of diversity and inclusion at FST.
