Based in Italy, Danieli is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of facilities for the metallurgical industry. A builder of rolling mills and blast furnaces, among other installations, the company has been manufacturing in China for years, sourcing hydraulic cylinder seals from Taicang NOK-Freudenberg Sealing Products (TNF) and the Lead Center Heavy Duty Industry in Hamburg, Germany.
Under the umbrella of NOK-Freudenberg (China) (NFC), TNF‘s manufacturing operations near the eastern metropolis of Shanghai is a pillar of the sealing activities of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) and its Japanese sister company NOK in the People’s Republic of China. Over the summer, one of TNF’s TechDays had the goal of deepening its business ties with Danieli. The event was designed to convince the Italian company of the advantages and benefits of collaborating with a global sealing company that operates a site in Taicang, close to its Chinese customers. Another objective was for NFC and FST representatives to gain an even better understanding of customer desires and needs for efficient cooperation.

A tour of the plant in Taicang promoted even closer cooperation. It highlighted the technical equipment and processes that TNF is using to ensure its high-quality standards on-site. This was accompanied by the sharing of technical information in greater depth. Dongbing Ni, application engineer at the Lead Center Heavy Industry, was incorporated into the TechDay by video link from Hamburg. Addressing the group in Chinese, he presented the Lead Center Heavy Industry‘s products and services to fourteen participants from Danieli’s engineering, purchasing and aftermarket areas.
TNF has held similar TechDays with other major industrial customers from the heavy industry and wind power sectors.
