Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) has completed its first audit with Airbus at the Santa Ana Lead Center, marking a significant milestone in its aerospace business development. The audit was part of Airbus’s TOPSCAN assessment framework and evaluated the site’s maturity across six operational domains, including scheduling, IT security, sustainability and customer support.
The audit highlighted FST’s strengths in manufacturing and inspection processes, environmental management and continuous improvement initiatives. Strategic business planning and deployment were noted as well integrated across functions, and the use of ERP systems such as SAP, Signavio and Power BI was recognized as effective in supporting business processes.
The audit engaged a broad cross-section of personnel, including representatives from quality assurance, human resources, product marketing and technical management. Visual management and lean performance practices were also found to be well implemented throughout the site.

“This audit was a critical first step in strengthening our relationship with Airbus and expanding our O-Ring business,” said Eugen Amann, Application Center Manager. “We are encouraged by the positive feedback and are committed to addressing the opportunities identified to enhance our operational effectiveness further.”
The successful completion of the audit positions FST to deepen its engagement with Airbus programs, including the A220, A320 family, A330 and A350 XWB. The company’s commitment to sustainability, compliance and continuous improvement was noted as a key factor in its readiness to support Airbus’s production and supply chain needs.
