Day after day, tons of perfectly edible food is wasted and ends up in the trash. About 17 percent of the world’s food production goes to waste in homes, the food industry and stores.
In 2019, the United Nations declared September 29 to be the “International Day against Food Waste.” This year, the managers at Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) in Basma, India, seized the moment and announced that the date would be “A Day without Waste.” Banners encouraged employees to make changes in their lifestyle, and Operations Manager Frederick Baouab described how important it is for everyone to deal with food responsibly.
