Under the motto “Inspire your child! We support.”, Freudenberg supports young people from employees’ families on their path to university and a career. The “Horizons” support program is growing and has exciting offers in store for 2025.
The first of four programs has been successfully launched: Freudenberg will award scholarships to prospective students from seven focus countries. A total of 129 applications were received. Around a third of these came from the USA, with China and India accounting for a further third. The other applications came from Italy, Germany, Turkey and Mexico. Scholarship holders are selected by regional teams and then confirmed by a global committee. Special consideration is given to children of production employees and additional commitment. The commitments will be presented in March. The application phase for 2026 starts at the end of August.
Inspiration for young people
Parallel to the scholarship program, the range of internships on offer is being expanded. Internships are possible in various countries and business areas. Their duration and conditions depend on the respective requirements in the region. If you are interested, you can find open internship positions in the HR database. The third pillar of Horizons will be launched in the second quarter of this year. A pilot project for career orientation enables employees to get to know various professional fields within Freudenberg and gain insights into different roles and functions. Career guidance is to be offered annually at larger locations in all countries and will be a mixture of virtual and on-site events. Registration is handled by the local HR teams.
Network: growing together
The fourth pillar of “Horizons” is the network, which is due to be launched in the second half of the year. It connects interested parties, program participants and committed mentors in order to exchange experiences and knowledge. The framework for this is provided by an interactive community platform, regular virtual and physical meetings and a mentoring program.
