August 20, 2025. In July 2025, Dr. Matthias Sckuhr, Chief Executive Officer of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST), visited the sales office and warehouse of Freudenberg-NOK South America (FNST SA) in São Paulo, Brazil.
In 2019, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) made the decision to close the former production plant in Diadema, Brazil, due to the economic situation and a lack of profitability. Since 2020, the company has been doing business in Brazil with around 55 associates through its new office in São Paulo and a logistics service provider (TKL/Toyota) in Salto, which is about 100 kilometers away. Since then, Freudenberg-NOK South America (FNST-SA) has developed very positively and brought its profitability up to the level of FST.
“We have been steadily driving the business forward since the closure of our production facility and have made sustainable gains in market share,” says Marcelo Horemans, President Region SA/Vice President Corteco SA. “This is a remarkable success for us. We have created synergies and utilized the combined resources of all sales channels – i.e. Corteco, Automotive, General Industry and Industrial Service Division – in terms of finance, human resources, customer service, material planning and warehousing.”
“I am very impressed by how committed the team in Brazil is and how it has managed to grow and become profitable even without a local production,” says Dr. Matthias Sckuhr, Chief Executive Officer of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, on the occasion of his visit in July.
FNST-SA serves a variety of segments in which FST is active. These include the independent automotive aftermarket, automotive manufacturers and their suppliers, truck and bus manufacturers and their suppliers, as well as the agricultural, construction, power generation, power transmission and distribution industries.
