DiIn 2023, the Damper & Steering partner production facility will be getting a new production facility in Parets del Vallès, Spain, covering a total of 6,600 square meters (71,000 square feet). It will be one of the most sustainable Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) locations. The plans call for heating the building with a heating pump with energy recapture and lighting with energy-efficient LEDs. A photovoltaic system is due to be installed on the roof; it will supply the site with green electricity. In the production area, a highly efficient energy recuperation system will provide heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. The waste heat from machines will be used in the heating and hot water systems. The exhaust air from the dip coating unit remains CO2-free thanks to a new biological system. The plans also call for all the production and building systems to do without fossil fuels.
