During the fall, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) honored its premium commercial partner Altmann for its 20 years of cooperation with the company. The Freudenberg Preferred Partner event (see page 24) offered the right occasion.

We advise and support our customers on technical challenges competently and knowledgeably. We are the ideal partner when it comes to minimizing process costs, optimizing internal workflows and increasing the uptime of machines and installations. Our activities are geared to long-term collaboration during which customers can rely on us at any time.”
The words sound as though they came right out of a Freudenberg brochure. But they are from Erich Bleimund, CEO of Altmann GmbH & Co. KG, as he describes the self-image and philosophy of his company. In view of these commonalities, it is little wonder that FST and Altmann, a Freudenberg Preferred Partner (FPP), are such a good fit and work together so well.
“Altmann stands out for its considerable consulting expertise on sealing technology. All of its employees use the training offerings of the FST Academy with real commitment. Many of them have advanced or professional status, which qualifies them as sealing experts,” said Frank Thöne, Sales Director, Distribution Germany. Another plus: Altmann knows how to take advantage of the digital ordering platform EASY as a way to cut response times and accelerate deliveries to customers. “This takes the burden off our internal sales staff, too,” Thöne added.

Research project is a winner
One example of cooperation in a spirit of trust and a shared innovative spirit is the companies’ support for a research project at the Technical University (TU) of Munich. Tesla founder Elon Musk wants to use a tunnel system to alleviate traffic problems. With expert knowledge and technology from Altmann and Freudenberg “on board,” TU Munich was one of the finalists in an international competition to develop faster-working tunnel boring machines – and then went on to win.
Altmann’s headquarters is in Dachau, near Munich (Germany), and it has other subsidiaries in Bavaria and Frankfurt. Along with the classic technical trade, Altmann business units offer consulting, CAD designs and calculations, and services such as maintenance/repair and condition monitoring.
The last specialty closes the loop with FST, which has just brought out a new technical solution – LeaCo – for condition monitoring. Using an optical sensor, LeaCo identifies and reports leaks early. The innovation offers the potential for additional shared projects.
