The latest edition of “Sealing World” may have come as a surprise. It doesn’t look the way it used to. And there is a good reason for that: Over the past five years, the “FST Portal” has become a second, strong pillar of the company’s internal communications. Especially for up-to-date news, it has developed into a reliable information channel for employees in a computer-equipped workplace. With just four editions a year, “Sealing World” is unable to meet that standard of current news reporting. So we have realigned the two communication channels. “Sealing World” has become a magazine where we tell the “stories behind the news,” profile employees, explain interrelationships and provide background information. Up-to-date reporting is found in the FST Portal.

We are aware that employees in manufacturing operations still lack access to the portal. We know that this is unsatisfying, and we are working hard on new solutions that will give workers access to current news items in the future, via smartphone, for example. Many of you who took part in the survey on FST’s internal communications indicated a willingness to call up company news via their personal cell phone. That is one solution Your feedback is important to us: that we are pursuing. At the editorial deadline for this edition, we were still in the process of analyzing the results of the survey. But we will inform you about them in the March edition. On behalf of the internal communications team, I sincerely thank you for answering our questions.

What is the new edition offering you in terms of content? Its main focus is on the current FST strategy. Claus Möhlenkamp takes a look at business developments during 2021. He outlines how hard we battled in the first year of the current strategy period and what we can expect in the new year. You will also learn how FST’s strategy is developed. And if you are looking for a bit of color, you can read what Michael Müller has done in the backyard of his new house in United States using wood from Germany, his homeland.
