Incubator Battery Cell Caps secures first project with customer Automotive Cells Company, marking a milestone in strategic partnership.
Hard work has eventually paid off: Automotive Cells Company (ACC) has sent an order for Cell Caps to Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) at Pinerolo (Italy). “We are delighted to announce that FST has been awarded and signed its first contract with Automotive Cells Company (ACC)”, Giulia Richard, Global Marketing Director BCC, says. ”This is an important milestone for FST and a satisfying accomplishment for all those whose hard work helped bring it about. The contract with ACC is a significant addition to our growing portfolio and sets a positive tone for our official entry into the e-mobility sector. This strategic move gives us a stronger foothold in the ever-evolving automotive landscape.”
Automotive Cells Company — the joint venture between Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz and SAFT Group — is one of Europe’s leading pioneers in battery cell production. ACC has recognized FST’s excellence and cited the company’s high service standards, quality and expertise as key factors in signing this contract.
Through this agreement, FST will develop and produce battery cell caps. The company’s proven expertise in automation, stamping technologies, and advanced materials will play a central role in supporting ACC in pursuing and achieving their ambitious goals.

The project is part of the next generation, fully electric Mercedes-Benz C-Class, with production scheduled to begin in 2027. It’s a significant initiative with substantial business impact: “We expect to produce up to 9.7 million parts per year at full capacity,” Richard says.
To make it happen, FST will be investing significantly in new equipment and automation solutions, not only to meet production targets but to reinforce the company’s long-term commitment to innovation and growth. “This achievement results from our collective expertise, dedication and commitment to meeting the needs of a rapidly changing industry. It opens new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and technological advancements in sustainable mobility”, Maurizio Buro, Global Technical Director BCC, says.
With this new project on the horizon, the team will shape the future of mobility by Innovating Together.
