The Competence Center Gaskets, a unit of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST), has concluded an additional agreement with the public fire and rescue service of the Haute Vienne Département. In an emergency, the company will make two specially trained employees available to deal with it.
Under the agreement, employees volunteering with the service can be temporarily released from their jobs in an emergency. All it takes is a call from the public fire and rescue service to trigger the deployment. The FST volunteers are authorized to be away from work during the emergency but still receive their regular pay.
FST benefits from having a second employee trained in first aid at the plant. If there is an emergency at the Freudenberg site, the volunteers can also serve as intermediaries between the company and the fire department.

The village of Chamboret has nearly 800 residents. Marc Nicolas, Manager, Competence Center Gaskets, summed up the advantages for FST’s partner: “Considering that we are located in an area far from their base of operations, the agreement is also of great benefit to the public emergency services. We are showing that we live and breathe our company values and are meeting our social and ecological responsibilities.”
