Over the past two years, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) has invested several million euros in a Hungarian Partner Production plant, FTI Lajosmizse, building a new manufacturing area and a modern warehouse, setting up equipment for automated manufacturing, and renovating conference rooms and social facilities. In June, managers and staff celebrated the completion of the construction work and dedicated the facilities.
The new 300-square-meter (3,200-square-foot) warehouse area is inserted between two former factory buildings. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and has air-conditioned storage for raw materials. A new, nearly 1,200 square meter (13,000 square-foot) manufacturing hall was also erected after an old section of the premises was razed.
Last spring, an automated manufacturing cell valued at three-quarters of a million euros and an advanced automated robot unit were installed. Other machinery is due to follow by the end of the third quarter. The investment is enabling FST to boost its production capacity at the plant and make it more flexible.
Incidentally, there is another good reason to pop the corks in Lajosmizse this year: As of this month, the plant has been part of FST for 15 years.
Congratulations Lajosmizse!
