In recent years, Turkey has become one of the most important locations for suppliers and manufacturers serving the European auto industry. The city of Bursa has the country’s largest concentration of auto-related activities, and it is still growing. Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) has a factory in Bursa, giving it a presence in the region. The growth in this industrial area has been accompanied by rising demand for skilled workers. So it is all the more important to nurture young talent and tie them to the company.

FST has teamed up with the Öztimurlar vocational school to support the education of young people attracted to technical fields. Over a period of two-and-one-half years, FST’s experts have advised the school on the joint creation of a “factory automation laboratory” and the development of a suitable curriculum.
After the concept was finalized, the school consulted with FST on obtaining government funding to cover lab equipment: six computer and experiment kits with memory-programmable controls, an industrial robot arm, and other training and test sets. The new lab was dedicated in November – to the great pleasure of the students who will be using it in their training in coming
years.
As a token of their gratitude and appreciation, the school honored FST with a special award that Tamer Özün, Bursa’s Plant Manager, accepted on behalf of the entire team.
