- Since September 2021, the Lead Center Fuel Cell Systems in Munich has been operating in the market as Freudenberg Fuel Cell e-Power Systems GmbH, with a wholly owned subsidiary, Freudenberg Fuel Cell e-Power Systems Inc., active in the United States.
- FFCPS develops and manufactures all the components for heavy-duty, modular fuel cell systems, building on a range of products, from individual functional components to complete fuel cell systems, including all necessary subsystems and services such as telematics, remote monitoring, field services and cost-optimized stack maintenance.
- In 2022, FFCPS is equipping its first cruise ship with a Freudenberg fuel cell system. Systems for trucks will follow in 2023 and buses in 2024.
- FFCPS fuel cell systems run on either pure hydrogen, methanol or liquid natural gas (LNG). Methanol, in particular, offers huge potential for emissions reduction given the global maritime fleet’s demands for long ranges and route flexibility. The fuel can already be produced completely emission-neutrally.
